A preventive medicine visit, commonly known as an “annual exam” is a vital part of the care provided by your family physician. Prevention can greatly improve your longevity and quality of life. Preventive medicine includes screening tests, immunizations, physical exam, and counseling. All commercial insurances and Medicare provide for an annual preventive medicine visit at no cost to you. (Alaska State retiree plans do not provide for a preventive medicine visit)
Our well woman exam is a preventive medicine visit which focuses on the special healthcare needs of women. Although your specific needs will vary based on your age and medical history, your exam may include: cervical cancer screening (Pap smear), breast cancer screening (exam and mammogram), colon cancer screening, and testing for chronic medical problems such as diabetes, high cholesterol, and heart disease. Gynecologic health including, family planning, sexually transmitted infection (STD) testing and treatment of menopause, is also offered.
Routine Medical Care
Our Board Certified Family Physicians are trained to care for the whole patient, including the management of chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, and many others to keep you healthy and feeling your best.

Workers Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accidents
Alyeska Family Medicine provides complete care for injuries resulting from on the job injuries and motor vehicle accidents. We accept Alaska State and Federal Worker’s compensation.
Workers Compensation: If you have been injured on the job please make sure to report this to your employer and obtain a workers compensation case number. You will need to have the case number with you at your initial visit.
Motor Vehicle Accidents: Alyeska Family Medicine will provide you with complete documentation to submit to your motor vehicle insurance company, so you may seek reimbursement for medical care received as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Immunizations are an important part of preventive medicine for people of all ages. Many serious and potentially fatal illnesses can be prevented by the use of immunizations. Alyeska Family Medicine provides all available immunizations including travel immunizations such as Yellow Fever.
